God of Carnage

Whatever it was that was done to you
Maybe the day of the school fair
When you came home tugging on a paper mache dinosaur
And dad, who ought to have his hands clasped in praise
Asked you why love never lasted
Then blamed your mother for not knowing how to make fire
Whatever it was
You oughta take a pill
And deprive your heart of its 'entitlement' to pain
Stop contaminating every space with your unresolved issues
And intolerance of happiness
and your indifference to love
You weren't the favorite child
What else can I say?

You're like a wax figurine
Fixed in the posture of the last time you felt nothing
Outside the window they are building a house
I see a two story high, Victorian style detached dwelling
You see a crumbling dream
